Samsung has officially announced the all-new Galaxy Quantum2 smartphone in the South Korean market today. This device, according to past reports, is expected to arrive under the Galaxy A82 moniker in the global market.
Just like last year’s Galaxy A Quantum, the new Galaxy Quantum2 also features a quantum random number generator (QRNG) which is said to be the world’s smallest at 2.5mm squared.
The QRNG security chip, according to SK Telecom, will allow”smartphone holders to use services that require security in a more safe and secure manner by generating unpredictable and patternless true random numbers”.
Coming to its specs, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 features a 6.7” Super AMOLED Infinity-O display that offers a QHD screen resolution and a smooth 120Hz screen refresh rate. On top of that, there’s also a 10 megapixels selfie camera as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner.
For photography, the Galaxy Quantum2 sports a triple-camera system lead by a 64 megapixels main camera alongside a 12 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 5 megapixels macro camera.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a two-years-old Snapdragon 855+ chipset which is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. It draws power from a respectable 4,500mAh battery which supports up to 25W fast-charging.
Aside from that, other notable features which accompany the Galaxy Quantum2 also include its support for 5G, NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 on the connectivity side, as well as the presence of an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
In the South Korean market, the Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 is priced at KRW 699,600 ($622) for its sole 6GB+128GB model.
