Back in January this year, Samsung announced the Galaxy S10 Lite – a slightly more affordable member of the Galaxy S10 series smartphones.
Keeping that in mind, it definitely make sense for Samsung to introduce the “Lite” model of the current Galaxy S20 lineup in December this year or January next year.
However, a new report out of South Korea has suggested otherwise. According to ETNews, the Galaxy S20 Lite could break cover as early as October this year.
This device, rumored to be driven by the flagship Snapdragon 865 platform, is also speculated to be marketed as the Galaxy S20 Pen Edition or S20 Fan Edition.
As noted by the report, the more affordable Galaxy S20 handset will be part of Samsung’s plan to revitalize its smartphone sales in Q2 2020.
Other than the Galaxy S20 Lite, Samsung will also hold a number of high profile smartphone launches between August and October: Samsung Galaxy Note20 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Fold 2.
