Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S21 series of flagship phones in January. A recent leak had revealed all the key specs of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. It appears that the South Korean company could be gauging the performance of the Galaxy S21 series as the S21+ has appeared at Geekbench.
The Galaxy S21 Plus has appeared with its SM-G996U model number in Geekbench 5. The listing shows that it is a Qualcomm SoC variant. The Snapdragon 875 mobile platform is mentioned with its “Lahania” codename in the listing. The SoC has a base frequency of 1.80GHz.
The listing shows that the device is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and it is preinstalled with Android 11 OS. It has scored 1120 in the single-core test of Geekbench 5 and 3319 in the multi-core test.
In September, the Galaxy S21 featuring the Exynos 2100 chipset had shown on the same benchmarking platform. It also featured Android 11 OS and 8 GB of RAM. However, it recorded a lower single-core score of 1040 and a multi-core score of 3170. It remains to be seen whether there will be a major difference in the performance between the Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 875.
It was recently revealed that the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra will be made official in January. The pre-orders of the S21 series are expected to begin on the same date. The trio is likely to hit the shelves on Jan. 29. At present, there is no word available on its pricing.
