Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24 series at the January Unpacked event earlier this year. At launch, the flagship series consists of three devices: the regular S24, the S24 Plus, and the S24 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, a fourth device, will now join them.
Galaxy Club has reported that Samsung is currently working on its next Fan Edition smartphone. The Galaxy S24 FE has the codename R12, which lines up perfectly with the naming pattern of previous FE devices.
The S20 FE was codenamed R8, the S21 was codenamed R9, and the latest S23 FE has the codename R11. The R10 was reserved for the S22 FE. However, it never made it to the market. Samsung instead focused on releasing the S23 FE with improved specifications.
As per the report, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE will be unveiled towards the end of 2024 and will become readily available in 2025. Samsung went through a similar route as the S23 FE. It was unveiled in late 2023 but only in select regions. It wasn’t until the start of 2024 that the phone began to expand into other regions.
Aside from the codename and release timeframe, there is not much to discuss about the Galaxy S24 FE. There is no information on its technical specifications. However, people respect it for resembling S23 FE with a few improvements.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE comes with a 6.4-inch FHD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone packs a different chipset depending on the region. The US version features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, whereas the rest of the region gets the Exynos 2200 version. Regardless, the phone ships with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Powering it is a 4,500mAh battery, which supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.
The triple camera setup at the back compromises a 50-megapixel primary shooter, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. There is a 10-megapixel sensor for selfies.
