The Samsung Galaxy S24 series smartphones which were launched at the beginning of the year are easily among the best smartphones we’ve tested so far. However, consumers with tighter budget may find their four-digit starting price a bit hard to swallow. That’s where the new Galaxy S24 FE jumps in to bridge the gap.
The new Galaxy S24 FE packs all the fan-favourite features of the S24 series into a good-looking glass slab that carries a more accessible starting price of just S$1,028. While its true Samsung did cut some corners to make the phone more affordable, but rest assured, this is still probably the best smartphone you can get at this price point.
In terms of design, the Galaxy S24 FE could easily be mistaken for its more expensive S24 stablemate as both devices share the same boxy outlook as well as the signature “floating camera design” that makes the phone highly recognizable from other smartphone brands. Despite the similarities, you can still tell the devices apart by looking at their sizes – with the new S24 FE adopting a larger form factor to accommodate a slightly wider display.

It has a spacious 6.7” display upfront that’s based on a high-end Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel which looks sharp and vibrant regardless whether you’re using the phone in an indoor or outdoor environment. On top of that, its also packed with other advanced features including a fast 120Hz refresh rate as well as HDR10+ support to provide users with a more immersive entertainment experience.
At the helm, the Galaxy S24 FE is powered by the company’s in-house 4nm Exynos 2400e mobile platform. While this may be a slightly underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 chipset used in the Galaxy S24, its still able to yield pretty much the same performance as the standard version – meaning you can expect a snappy day-to-day use as well as a seamless multi-tasking and gaming experience.
Other than that, there’s also a respectable 4,700mAh battery that’s capable of delivering one full day of heavy usage with some juice to spare at the end of the day. Charging-wise, the phone also supports a decently-quick 25W wired charging which recharges a completely flat battery from 0 to 100% in slightly over an hour mark.
Like any other Galaxy S series smartphones, photography remains a strong suite for the new Galaxy S24 FE which comes with a versatile triple-cam system comprising of a 50 megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) main camera, 12 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) ultra-wide camera, as well as a 8 megapixels (f/2.4 aperture) telephoto unit.
Even with the prices differences, the Galaxy S24 FE actually uses the same main camera as the more expensive Galaxy S24 which allows the phone to capture mesmerizing photos with excellent details and colour rendition that makes them look flattering and yet realistic – just like what we see with our own eyes.

Also, the availability of a dedicated telephoto camera naturally means that the phone is able to capture high quality zoomed shots. It supports 3x optical zoom which allows you to take professional-looking portraits, and up to 30x zoom to capture faraway subjects. Honestly speaking, I’m truly impressed by the quality of the zoomed photos which in my opinion, are the best I’ve seen in this price range.
All in all, the new Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a phone with plenty to love. From it’s clean, affable design to it’s capable camera system, the S24 FE allows users to enjoy the same premium experience as the rest of the S24 series devices despite coming at a more affordable price point.
For those who’re interested, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is priced starting at just S$1,028 in Singapore and is available for purchase through Samsung Online Store, Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung Official Stores, telecommunication operators, and major consumer electronics & IT stores.
