Samsung is preparing to reveal its Galaxy Z-series of foldable phones in July this year. Following this, attention will shift to the Galaxy S24 lineup, which is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2024. Recently, renowned tipster Ice Universe shared details about the camera specifications of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, sourced from Korean media reports. Here are the latest revelations regarding the rear camera setup of the S24 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra specifications (rumored)
As per Korean media sources, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a Samsung HP2 200-megapixel main camera. It is the same primary camera that it is available on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The main snapper will be assisted by a Sony IMX564 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a Sony IMX754 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and an IMX754+ 10-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. Hence, the S24 Ultra will have an upgraded periscope zoom camera as compared to its predecessor. The quad-camera setup will be supported by an LED flash and a laser autofocus unit.
The leak has no information about the front camera of the S24 Ultra. In all likelihood, Samsung may want to retain the new 12-megapixel front camera that was made available on the S23 Ultra.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is likely to feature a custom-variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which is set to launch in October. The Snapdragon chip variant of the S24 series is expected to be released in markets, such as Asia and North America. Samsung is also said to be working on a flagship Exynos chip dubbed the Exynos 2400. It is speculated that the Galaxy S24 series releasing in Europe may feature the Exynos 2400 SoC.
