Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra battery, camera specifications tipped

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series of smartphones in January 2026. However, those hoping for a larger battery on the Galaxy S26 Ultra may be left disappointed. According to reliable sources, including tipster Ice Universe and GalaxyClub.nl, Samsung is unlikely to increase the battery capacity on its Ultra model — a spec it hasn’t updated since the Galaxy S20 Ultra back in 2020.

According to the tipster, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will retain a 5,000mAh battery. The good news is that the energy density of the battery is reportedly improved, which could translate to longer battery life compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Interestingly, the physical size of the battery is said to be smaller, potentially allowing Samsung to reduce the overall thickness of the device.

While exact charging speeds have not been disclosed, the source does suggest that there will be an improvement in the charging capabilities of the S26 Ultra.

As per GalaxyClub, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue to feature a 200-megapixel primary camera. Although it is unclear which camera sensor Samsung will use, it could be the same one seen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be powered by an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, which is likely to be announced in September this year. The device is expected to ship with One UI 8 based on Android 15, with further enhancements to Galaxy AI.

For now, Samsung’s focus remains on the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where it is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Flip 7 FE, Galaxy Watch 8, and Watch 8 Classic.
