Samsung Galaxy S9 Update Reveals Snapdragon 845, Android Oreo, Centered Fingerprint Sensor

The fingerprint reader on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ attracts fingerprint marks easily the users try to unlock them using the fingerprint reader. Fresh information shared by XDA has revealed on the Galaxy S9 suggests that it would be coming with a dedicated rectangular cutout for the fingerprint reader that will be placed towards the center of the rear panel probably below the rumored dual cameras.

The Galaxy S9 is rumored to feature the same dual rear cameras that are available on the recently launched Galaxy Note 8 phablet.  The publication has revealed that the Galaxy S9 that has a model number of SM-G960 is driven by Snapdragon 845 and 4 GB of RAM. It is pegged to feature an Infinity Display like the predecessor model that will support an aspect ratio of 18:5 and a Quad HD+ resolution of 2,960 x 1,440 pixels.

The Galaxy S9 is speculated to arrive with Android 8.0 Oreo preinstalled coupled with the latest 9.0 version of Samsung Experience UI. Some rumors have claimed that Galaxy S9 could be the first Samsung with modular capabilities. However, since the South Korean is unlikely to bring radical changes to the design of Galaxy S9, it is unlikely to support modular accessories. Samsung is also rumored to debut a larger Galaxy S9+ phablet alongside the S9 with same specs.
