One of the major drawbacks of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which debuted a few months ago, is that it lacks support for the S Pen. Samsung reportedly decided to remove the S Pen digitiser to reduce the overall thickness of the device. A new report by South Korean publication Dealsite claims that the S Pen support will not only return on next year’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, but it will also arrive with a few more improvements.

Apart from bringing back S Pen support, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also said to feature a redesigned hinge system. This is expected to reduce the crease that shows up on the internal screen when it is folded. The company will reportedly use precision laser drilling on metal plates inside the hinge assembly to improve smoothness and overall structural consistency.
Samsung’s competitors in the foldable phone segment, such as Honor, Vivo, and Oppo, offer larger batteries on their devices. While this year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 came with a 4,272mAh battery, its rivals offered around 6,000mAh. As per the South Korean publication, the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s battery size could be over 5,000mAh, promising a significant improvement in battery life.
At present, there is no concrete information about the core specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Likely, it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, which is expected to power the Galaxy S26 series.
As far as the launch is concerned, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may break cover in July 2026. Before its debut, Oppo may unveil the Find N6 in the first quarter of 2026, whereas the Vivo X Fold 6 and Honor Magic V6 may also arrive in China before the Z Fold 8.
