Samsung has unveiled two new wearable devices along with a new pair of wireless earphones at the IFA 2017 event. Here is a low down on each of these devices.
Samsung Gear Sport
The Gear Sport is a new Samsung smartwatch with fitness tracking capabilities. It has a round 1.2-inch S-AMOLED screen that supports 360 x 360 pixels resolution. It has a MIL-STD-810G standard shockproof body with 5 ATM water resistance which makes it usable even under 50-meter-deep water. It features a dedicated swim tracking app called Speedo.
Other features include 1GHz dual-core processor, 768 MB of RAM, 4 GB of ROM, Bluetooth connectivity, heart rate monitor, GPS, access to apps from Under Armour and Tizen OS. It comes with a 20mm strap and will come in blue and black colors. There is no information available on its pricing and availability.
Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro
It is an improved version of the Gear Fit 2 fitness band from 2016 that comes with 5 ATM water resistance. It is available It is fitted with a 1.5-inch S-AMOLED curved screen and it runs on Tizen OS. It has a 200mAh battery. It comes in two types of band color choices such as full black and a red one with 3D geometric pattern. Both the bands are enabled with buckle.
The Gear Fit 2 Pro pre-orders will begin from Aug. 31 with a pricing of $199. It can be availed through Samsung.com, Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and Macy’s
Samsung Gear IconX (2018)
The Bluetooth enabled Samsung Gear IconX (2018) wireless headphones now comes with an improved battery life of up to 6 hours. Its internal storage is 4 GB and comes with a case that not only works as a charger but also a power bank. It also features a USB-C slot and is enabled with Bixby AI. Like the predecessor model, it supports tapping and swiping gestures for controlling volume and playback.
Samsung has not revealed any details on its pricing and availability. It would be coming colors like Black, Gray and Pink.
