Android Rumors Leaked News Samsung

Samsung might be working on more affordable Fan Edition foldable phones, specifications leaked

Amidst the Galaxy Z Fold 6 series rumors, leaks have surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) hinting at Samsung working on affordable foldables. As per the screenshots shared by user @kro_re, the company is working on a toned-down version of the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip that will be released under the Fan Edition brand.

Samsung launched the Fan Edition with the Galaxy S20 FE and has since added tablets and wireless earbuds to the lineup. As such, the potential addition of the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Z Fold FE to this lineup is not totally out of the question.

As such, the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Galaxy Z Fold FE are not totally out of the question. However, the source does not have a perfect track record to back up the claims. The leak also has some inconsistencies that have raised some eyebrows.

For instance, the Galaxy Z Fold FE leak mentions the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and an Exynos chip, with the numbers after the initial “2” hidden. This means the phone could be powered by the Exynos 2200 or Exynos 2400. Alternatively, this could be an outdated leak indicating the existence of an already rejected idea.

In his defence, the source clarified that Samsung would release only one of the two Galaxy Z FE phones. As such, the Galaxy Z Flip FE looks more likely to see the light of day. It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and would come with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The phone will measure 71.9 x 165.2 x 6.9mm when unfolded and 71.9 x 85.5 x 6.9mm when folded. Samsung is said to host its next Unpacked event in July. If this leak is legit, there will be more information on the Galaxy Z Flip FE and Z Fold FE in the coming months. For now, take this leak with a pinch of salt.
