Every year, Samsung launches the W-series of phones in China in partnership with China Telecom. Previously, the company mainly launched W-series flip phones in the Chinese market. However, since 2019, the South Korean tech giant has only been launching W-series foldable phones in China. A leaked poster shared by tipster Ice Universe reveals that there will be two W-series devices this year.
As can be seen in the image below, Samsung will soon be launching the Samsung W23 and the Samsung W23 Flip. The upcoming W23 lineup will be the 15th generation of W-series phones from the brand. The poster also states that the W23 series will debut in October. It appears that the company will soon confirm the launch date for the W23 series in the next few days.
Last year, Samsung launched the Snapdragon 888-powered Samsung W22 5G foldable phone in October. The W22 was a China Telecom-exclusive edition of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Hence, it appears that the W23 and W23 Flip will be nothing but the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, which will be available only through China Telecom.
The poster shared by the tipster shows that the back panel of the Samsung W23 and the W23 have the “Heart to the World” logo. The W lineup released by Samsung helps in creating funds for charity. It appears that both models will be available in gold color only.
The Samsung W22 5G was priced at 16,999 Yuan, which indicates that the Samsung W23 may also carry a similar price tag. The W23 and W23 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, which is Qualcomm’s latest chipset for mobile devices.
