Google has officially confirmed that its next Made by Google event will take place on Aug. 20 in New York City. The announcement aligns with previous leaks and speculation, although Google has not commented on whether an earlier date had been considered. The keynote, scheduled for 10 AM PST., will be livestreamed across its official channels, promising a deep dive into its upcoming Pixel devices and software innovations.
Google Pixel 10 series

The main highlight of the event will be the launch of the Pixel 10 smartphone lineup, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. All models will be powered by the new Tensor G5 chipset, manufactured by TSMC instead of Samsung. This shift is expected to bring better thermal performance, energy efficiency, and processing power.
Camera upgrades include macro support through telephoto and ultrawide sensors, while a new accessory ecosystem called “Pixelsnap” will offer magnetic attachments via compatible cases. However, unlike Apple’s MagSafe, these magnets won’t be built into the devices themselves.
Alongside the phones, Google is also tipped to unveil Android 16. The new version will introduce a refreshed Material 3 Expressive design, AI-powered widgets, and smarter personalisation features.
The Pixel Watch 4 is anticipated in two sizes with improved battery life and enhanced fitness tracking. The Pixel Buds 2a may also make their debut as an affordable audio option with better Google Assistant features. In addition, new AI-integrated charging accessories and possibly updated Nest devices are also on the cards.
