In the first half of this year, Honor unveiled the Honor Magic V2 foldable phone. At the IFA 2023 tech trade show in September, the company showcased the Honor V Purse foldable phone with an outward folding design. Initially, it was thought it could be a concept device, but the device is now exclusively available for purchase in China. The brand is now gearing up to launch the Honor Magic Vs 2 as its third foldable phone of the year.
The official poster confirms that the Honor Magic Vs 2 will debut on Oct. 12 in China. The inward foldable smartphone can be seen sporting a 50-megapixel triple camera unit.
Rumors surrounding the device have claimed that it will arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of storage. The device is expected to run on Magic OS 7.2-based Android 14 and come with a magnesium alloy frame. Its other details are not known yet.
The Honor Magic Vs 2 will arrive as a successor to the Magic Vs, which was announced in November last year. Apart from the Magic Vs 2, the company will also announce a new smartwatch named the Honor Watch 4 Pro. The details of this smartwatch are yet to be revealed.
In addition, Honor will announce a new Play-series smartphone in China. The brand confirmed that the Play 50 Plus, a 5G-enabled phone, will break cover tomorrow (Oct. 10) in China. The phone is expected to come equipped with an FHD+ 90Hz LCD display, a Dimensity 700 chip, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of internal storage, a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 6,000mAh battery with 35W fast charging, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and Magic UI-based Android 13.
