In October 2022, Honor announced the Honor X40 GT in China. The device came equipped with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Rumors are rife that the brand is working on its successor, the Honor X50 GT. While the company is still silent on its arrival, it has just confirmed that it will unveil a new variant of the X40 GT on Sept. 21. As can be seen in the poster below, the device will be called the Honor X40 GT Racing Edition when it arrives in the market.
At present, there is no information on how the Honor X40 GT Racing Edition will differ from the regular X40 GT. The JD.com listing of the device suggests that the Racing Edition model will ship in two options, such as 12 GB RAM + 256 Gb storage and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. It will be available in color options, such as Racing Black, Magic Night Black, and Racing Silver.
For those who don’t know, the Honor X40 GT has been available in variants, such as 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, since launch. Both models have been available for 2,099 Yuan ($287) and 2,399 Yuan ($326), respectively.
Honor X40 GT specifications
The Honor X40 GT has a 6.81-inch FHD+ display that offers a 144Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 888 chipset is present under the hood of the device. It has a 4,800mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.
The Honor X40 GT runs on Android 12, which is based on Magic UI 6.1. It has a 16-megapixel front camera, and its rear shell has a 50-megapixel main camera and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras for macro and depth shots.
