Several reports have claimed Huawei will announce the Nova 12 series of smartphones this month (December) in China. Today, it was confirmed that the Nova 12 series will be announced on Dec. 26 in China. Here is a look at what’s known about the Nova 12 series so far.
Speculations are rife that the Nova 12 family will comprise four models: the Nova 12, the Nova 12 Vitality Edition (or the Nova 12 Lite), the Nova 12 Pro, and the Nova 12 Ultra. As per reports, the Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra will feature a rear setup with a 50-megapixel RYYB main camera.
Additionally, the main camera in the Nova 12 series boasts a 1/1.55-inch outsole and supports f/1.4-f/4.0 variable aperture adjustment, putting it on par with flagship devices. For selfies, the Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra will have a pair of 60-megapixel cameras.
Both smartphones are also said to be equipped with the Kirin 9000S 5G platform, which powers the Mate 60 series. However, it is also being said that the Nova 12 series will have an under-clocked version of the said chipset.
The Nova 12 is said to be a 4G smartphone featuring the Snapdragon 778G chipset. It is also expected to support 66W fast charging. It is unclear which chipset will power the Nova 12 Lite, but it is expected to feature an OLED panel with a flat design. It will have a 60-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back. The series will come preloaded with Harmony OS 4.
