Save the date: iQOO Z9 Turbo Z9 is launching on April 24

The iQOO Z9 Turbo now has an official release date. The phone will be unveiled on April 24 at 7 pm (local time) in China. iQOO has previously teased the phone as the “Zeitgeist” of the ongoing performance and AI revolution in the smartphone industry.

The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, Qualcomm’s latest chipset for affordable flagships. The Redmi Turbo 3  shares the same chipset as the Z9 Turbo and is set to launch later today. Realme is also said to have a phone plan with the same chipset, the GT Neo 6, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

In addition, the Z9 Turbo will feature a dedicated graphics chip for handling games and visuals, as well as a 6K VC cooling setup. Moreover, iQOO has confirmed a 6,000mAh battery, which is the biggest in the lineup so far. It will likely have fast 80W wired charging.

According to recent reports, the iQOO Z9 Turbo will feature a 6.78-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. The screen will boast a 144Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming. It will also have an optical fingerprint underneath. iQOO will offer the phone in two LPDDR5x RAM configurations: 12GB and 16GB. Likewise, the phone will come with up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. 

The official poster shows two cameras on the phone’s back. It also confirms the presence of optical image stabilisation (OIS) on the primary camera. The primary camera will have a 50-megapixel sensor, and it will be joined by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. There will be a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Moreover, the phone will ship with OriginOS 4, based on Android 14, out of the box.
