MediaTek has officially confirmed that it will unveil its next-generation flagship chip on Oct. 9 in China. Although the Taiwanese chip maker has not confirmed the chip’s name, we expect it to be the Dimensity 9400 SoC. The first phones featuring the new chip are expected to debut next month in China.
MediaTek Dimensity 9400 incoming
As per reports, the Dimensity 9400 will comprise four Cortex-A725 CPU cores operating at 2.10GHz, three Cortex-X4 CPU cores running at 2.80GHz, and one Cortex-X925 CPU core working at 3.63GHz. Additionally, the chipset is expected to include Mali-G925 Immortalis MC12 for graphics.
Rumors are rife that Vivo and Oppo will be the first brands to launch Dimensity 9400-powered devices. It is speculated that the Vivo X200, Vivo X200+, Vivo X200 Pro, and Vivo X200 Pro Satellite Communication Version will debut as the world’s first Dimensity 9400 phones on Oct. 14 in China.
The Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and Find X8 Pro Satellite Communication Version featuring the Dimensity 9400 SoC is expected to break cover on Oct. 21 in the home market. The Ultra models, such as the Vivo X200 Ultra and the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, are likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
The Qualcomm chip is expected to debut in the fourth week of October. It is speculated that the Xiaomi 15 series debuting in the same week will be the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phones. The Vivo X200 Ultra and Find X8 Ultra are expected to debut in the first quarter of 2025.
