In October, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 13 in China. The brand has now confirmed that the device will be unveiled globally on Jan. 7, 2025. Alongside, it will also announce the OnePlus 13R and OnePlus Buds 3 Pro in Sapphire Blue edition.
The OnePlus 13 heading to the global market is the same device that’s been available in China for the past few weeks. It will be available in three shades, such as Midnight Ocean (blue), Black Eclipse, and Arctic Dawn (white).
The OnePlus 13R will be available in two shades, such as Astral Trail (white) and Nebula Noir (black). The Sapphire Blue edition of the Buds 3 Pro will have AI Translation support for OnePlus 13 series users.
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 13R will have a flat display and a 50-megapixel triple camera unit on the back. The official images show that the device is equipped with an alert slider.
The 13R is confirmed to pack a massive 6,000mAh battery. For durability, the device will have an aluminum frame sandwiched between Gorilla Glass 7i panels on the front and back. Additionally, despite backing a large battery, the device will measure only 8mm in thickness.
Rumors are rife that the OnePlus 13R will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is likely that the device will be similar to the Ace 5, which is set to launch on Dec. 26 in China. While the Ace 5 is said to pack a 6,400mAh battery, the 13R will have a slightly smaller battery. The Ace 5 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit, whereas the 13R’s camera module may include a telephoto camera.
