Oppo will pull the curtains off the Oppo K12 on April 24 in China, the company announced through a post on Weibo. A launch event has been scheduled for 2:30 pm (local time).
The phone is already available for pre-order through Oppo’s Chinese website, Jingdong, and Tmall. Interested customers can reserve the phone for just 1 Yuan and enjoy the early-bird package. The official poster accompanying the announcement also confirms the rear design of the phone as well as the colour options.
The Oppo K12 will be available in two shades: Clear Sky with a bluish-green finish and a black version called Starry Night. The former uses a 3-layer nano-brightening optical film, resulting in a glossy finish. The latter has a more restrained design with a fingerprint-resistant surface.
Official posters of the Oppo K12 show it sporting an elongated pill-shaped island housing two cameras and an LED flash. The side frames are flat, whereas the corners are rounded. The teaser video even shows the flat display without revealing much.
Oppo K12 Specifications
The only technical detail of the Oppo K12 confirmed so far is the 100W flash charging. The phone will provide 10 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging, according to the company. It corroborates the previous leak by Digital Chat Station. According to him, the phone will pack a 5,500mAh battery.
It is speculated that the Oppo K12 will be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Nord CE 4, which went on sale in India recently. Thus, the phone will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with FHD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will come equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
The dual camera setup at the back will consist of a 50-megapixel primary shooter and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. There will be a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and videos. The phone will run Android 14-based ColorOS 14 at launch.
