Earlier this month, Nubia unveiled the Red Magic 8S Pro and the Red Magic 8S Pro+ gaming smartphones in the Chinese market. The brand has now officially confirmed that the Red Magic 8S Pro will debut in the global market at 8 AM (EST) on July 18. It appears that only the Pro variant will be released in markets outside of China. As can be seen in the image below, those who subscribe for updates on the arrival of the Red Magic 8S Pro’s global launch will get a $15 coupon and a chance to win the device.
Red Magic 8S Pro specifications
The Red Magic 8S Pro features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone offers a full screen viewing experience as it is equipped with a 16-megapixel under-display camera.
The rear camera setup of the phone features a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro snapper. The device will run on Android 13 with a layer of Red Magic OS 8 UI on top.
The overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which operates at 3.36GHz powers the Red Magic 8S Pro. It features up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. The device houses a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging support. In China, its base variant, which offers 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, is priced at 3,999 Yuan ($555).
The Red Magic 8S Pro+ has a 5,000mAh battery with 165W charging support. It is the world’s first smartphone to come with 24 GB of RAM. It also comes with 1 TB of storage. The rest of its specifications are identical to those of its non-Pro sibling.
