Redmi India has recently confirmed that it will hold an announcement event on August 1st in India, during which it will unveil the Redmi 12 (4G) and Redmi Watch 3 Active. Alongside these products, the company will also introduce the Xiaomi TV X series.
Furthermore, there has been an official confirmation from the brand that the Redmi 12 5G will also be part of the exciting lineup for the event. The noteworthy aspect is that the Redmi 12 5G will not only be launched for the Indian market but will also make its global debut simultaneously.
The Redmi 12 5G landing page has confirmed that the device will have a punch-hole display on the front and a dual camera unit on the back. The device has flat edges and a side-facing fingerprint scanner. The company confirmed that the Redmi 12 5G will have 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery.
According to reports, the Redmi 12 5G will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12R available in Chinese markets. The Note 12R has a 6.79-inch IPS LCD panel that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a 5-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel dual-camera system.
The Note 12R features the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging. It runs on Android 13 OS and MUI 14. In the Chinese market, the device is available with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
