It was reported last month that Samsung would be launching new W-series flagships in China soon. Today, Samsung confirmed that the W23 series will be unveiled at 7 PM (local time) on Oct. 21 in China.
The recently released teaser image revealed that the Samsung W23 series will include two devices, the W23 and the W23 Flip. These are just rebranded versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, which will be sold only through China Telecom.
The forthcoming W23 series will be the 15th generation W-series from Samsung and China Telecom. In the past few years, only one W-series device has been launched each year. However, this time around, there will be two devices.
The Samsung W23 and W23 Flip are expected to sport golden accents, which will give it a premium look. In addition, there will be a “Heart to the World” logo on the backside of both phones. Like the previous generation of W-series phones, the W23 and W23 Flip will be sold to generate funds for charity.
The Samsung W22 5G was announced with a price tag of 16,999 Yuan ($2,367) last year. The W23 is likely to arrive at a similar price. The W23 and W23 Flip will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The W23 will be a foldable phone featuring a 7.6-inch foldable display, whereas the W23 Flip will be a clamshell device with a 6.7-inch foldable screen.
