Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. At 7 PM (GMT+8) on April 18, the company will take off the covers from the highly anticipated 13 Ultra flagship phone. Like the predecessor Ultra models, the company’s upcoming flagship will deliver a top-notch photography experience.
Xiaomi is yet to reveal the camera capabilities of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. However, recent reports have revealed that the smartphone will be equipped with a quad-camera setup on the back. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and Xiaomi 12S Ultra that have been launched in the past have featured a triple camera unit.
Multiple reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be equipped with a 1-inch, 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 sensor, which was made available on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. As the company has already confirmed, the device will feature the Summicron lens in partnership with Leica.
Rumors have revealed that the round-camera module will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope zoom camera. The cameras are said to be equipped with Sony IMX858 lenses.
Shown above is a CAD render of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra released by popular tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer in collaboration with the publication, SmartPrix. The leak reveals that the device measures 15.6mm in thickness at the camera bump. Otherwise, it has a thickness of 9.57mm. The renders also give a good look at the camera module of the 13 Ultra.
The device is said to feature a 6.73-inch AMOLED E6 Quad HD+ 120Hz curved-edge screen integrated with a fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and a 4,900mAh battery with 50W wireless charging and 90W wired charging. It will run on MIUI 14-based Android 13 OS.
