Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will hold a global launch event on Feb. 28. The event will take place ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, where the company’s new flagship phones will be showcased to a global audience. Apart from the Xiaomi 17 series, the company will also announce a couple of other products during the same unveiling event, expanding its premium portfolio for international markets.
Xiaomi 17 series
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra will be announced at Xiaomi’s upcoming event. These devices are said to pack the same specifications as their Chinese counterparts, which debuted last year. However, the global versions are expected to pack slightly smaller batteries compared to the Chinese editions, while retaining the rest of the hardware.
The Xiaomi 17 series also includes the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, which are equipped with secondary displays on the back. However, these devices are unlikely to launch in the global market and may remain exclusive to China, similar to previous Pro variants.
Xiaomi Pad 8 series
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Pad 8 series will be announced at its upcoming unveiling event. The flagship tablet lineup will comprise the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets, respectively. These devices are likely to pack the same specifications as their Chinese versions, offering flagship-grade performance and premium features for productivity and entertainment users.
Apart from these devices, Xiaomi is also expected to announce the Xiaomi Tag. This device will be introduced as an affordable alternative to the Apple AirTag 2. The event will also see the arrival of the Redmi Buds 8 Pro for the global market.
