Sony was expected to debut the rumored Xperia XZ Pro premium flagship phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 that was held in the previous month. However, the company did not announce any other smartphone apart from the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact. A UAProf of a new Sony phone with a model number of Sony H8176 has appeared with 4K resolution. Hence, it is speculated that it could be the upcoming Xperia XZ2 Pro.
Sony H8176’s UAProf reveals that its display will support 4K resolution of 4320 x 2160 pixels. This shows that the handset will be offering an aspect ratio of 18:9 like the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact smartphones. The UAProf also reveals that the handset will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Previous reports have claimed that the Sony H8176 would be arriving with dual rear cameras. Since it is a flagship phone, it is likely to feature the Snapdragon 845 chipset. There is no information on the launch date of the phone. The Japanese company is known for using the IFA tech trade show platform to launch the IFA tech trade to announce its flagship phones apart from the MWC platform. Hence, it is speculated that the Xperia XZ2 Pro may get unveiled at IFA 2018.
