Sony is known for unveiling new flagship phones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) that is usually held in February. Since MWC 2020 is approaching, Sony could be prepping up to launch its new flagship phone. Popular tipster and industry expert @OnLeaks has partnered with SlashLeaks to bring the CAD renders and 360-degree of the upcoming Sony Xperia 5 Plus. It is will be arriving as the successor of the Xperia 1 smartphone from last year and as a larger version of the Sony Xperia 5 phone that was announced at IFA 2019 in September last year.
The dimensions of the Sony Xperia 5 Plus are 168.2 x 71.6 x 8.1mm and it houses a 6.6-inch OLED display. It appears that the smartphone offers 21:9 aspect ratio. In comparison, the Xperia 5 is a smaller device that features a 6.1-inch display.
The bezels above and below the display of Xperia 5 Plus is equipped with two front-firing speakers. The top bezel is equipped with an 8-mgeapixel front camera. The other details on the specs of the phone are not known yet. However, it is speculated that the phone could be fueled by Snapdragon 865 mobile platform.
A SIM slot seems to be available on the left spine of the device. The bottom edge of the device has a USB-C port. Its right edge is crowded as it features a volume rocker, a fingerprint scanner embedded under the power button and a camera shutter. A good thing about the Xperia 5 Plus is that it has a 3.5mm audio jack, a feature that was absent on the Xperia 5 handset. Hopefully, more details on the Xperia 5 Plus will surfaced in the coming weeks.
