The Xiaomi Mi 6 is one of Xiaomi’s smartphones that have been shrouded in secrecy despite the closeness of its launch. In the past, we would have seen the leaked images of an upcoming Xiaomi phone in multiple leaks but not this time around. This may perhaps be connected to the spectacular gadget Xiaomi is putting up for us. A recently leaked set of images of the Mi 6 have surfaced online showing some juicy details of the smartphone.
The leaked images are said to be those of the Mi 6 but what catches our attention the more is the unusually high screen-to-body ratio which the device featured. Not that this is the first time we are seeing a Xiaomi smartphone with a high screen ratio, the Mi Mix is there, but never in our imagination or in leaked features had it featured that the Mi 6 would have such a screen design.
The purported Mi 6 comes with a flat display and really doesn’t look spectacular in its design except for the absence of physical home button and other buttons under the display. The device may likely use onscreen buttons just like the one rumored to be on the Samsung Galaxy S8.
We are not too sure if this is indeed the much touted Mi 6 from Xiaomi but there is a thin veil of evidence on one of the images which appears to show the device downloading an MIUI 8 zip file. The device doesn’t feature a design similar with what Xiaomi had done in the past and the credibility of the tipster isn’t very high but then, anything is possible. The Mi 6 is expected to be launched in March running Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset.
