Several smartphone brands, such as Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo, have launched foldable phones. In future, Google and OnePlus are expected to enter the foldable market. A Tecno device with the model number AD10 and the marketing name Phantom V was discovered in the Bluetooth SIG certification platform’s database in December 2022. According to the listing, it could be Tecno’s first foldable phone. While there is no official word on it yet, GSMArena has published the renders of the Phantom Vision V concept phone. It offers a unique design as compared to the foldable phones available.
Most foldable phones have a cover display and a separate inner foldable screen. Since the Phantom V concept doesn’t have a dedicated cover display, it has a very different look.
Instead, the Phantom Vision V has a single rollable screen. When the device is folded, the screen remains on the front. However, when the device is opened, the screen portion available outside starts moving inside, thereby expanding the inner display area. As per the publication, when the display is fully expanded, the device can be used like a tablet since it offers a usable screen space of 10.1 inches.
Hence, the Phantom Vision V, which seems to have a form factor similar to the foldable phones from other brands, manages to offer a larger display area on the inside, thanks to the presence of a rollable screen. When folded, the device can function as a regular smartphone.
The Phantom Vision V has three cameras, a quad-LED flash, and a secondary screen on the back. The latter can be used to view notifications, reminders, and AOD (Always-on Display) elements.
