Chinese electronics giant Tecno has announced a new entry-level smartphone in the African region known as the Tecno POP 6 which will be succeeding last year’s POP 5. The new model brings along several key upgrades including a larger 5,000mAh battery.
Right off the bat, the new Tecno POP 6 features a 6.1” IPS LCD display offering a HD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, it also has a 5 megapixels front-facing camera situated within a waterdrop-notch along it’s upper bezel.
Over on the rear side, there’ll be a dual-cam setup comprising of a 5 megapixels main camera as well as an auxiliary sensor. Other than that, you also get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner to for biometric authentication.
Moving on to it’s internals, the new Tecno POP 6 is powered by an unspecified quad-core mobile processor which will be paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage that can still be further expanded via a microSD card.
Keeping it’s lights on will be a 5,000mAh battery which doesn’t appears to carry any form of fast-charging. In terms of software, the phone is shipped with Android 11 (Go Edition) out of the box.
For those who’re interested, the Tecno POP 6 will be offered in three different colorways such as Sea Blue, Sky Blue and Lime Green. It’ll be priced at around US$130 in the African markets.
