Chinese electronics giant Tecno has unveiled a new entry-level smartphone known as the Tecno Spark 9 Pro in the African region which will be succeeding last year’s Spark 8 Pro. The new model comes with several key upgrades over the proceeding model including an improved selfie camera among others.
Right off the bat, the Tecno Spark 9 Pro features a 6.8” IPS LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution along with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, the device is equipped with a 32 megapixels front-facing camera tucked into a waterdrop-notch along it’s upper bezel.
Over on the rear side, the Tecno Spark 9 Pro sports a triple-camera array comprising of a 48 megapixels main camera as well as a 2 megapixels macro camera and a 2 megapixels AI lens. As usual, a LED unit is also present at the back to assist in low-light photography.
Under the hood, the Tecno Spark 9 Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 chipset which will be paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the phone is backed by a respectable 5,000mAh battery with a relatively fast 18W charging speed. Software-wise, it’ll be covered by a custom HiOS 8.6 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
Those who’re interested in the new Tecno Spark 9 Pro can pick the phone from four different colors such as Quantum Black, Burano Blue, Holy White and Hacker Storm. Sadly speaking, the company has yet to announce the official pricing and availability of the device at the time of writing.
