Honor has officially confirmed that the company will be launching the much anticipated Honor 50 series smartphones on June 16th, later this month.
With slightly less than two weeks away from it’s unveiling, a pair of official-looking renders depicting the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro have made their appearance courtesy of the folks over at GSMArena.
At first glance, the Honor 50 series devices do remind us of the upcoming Huawei P50 series smartphones, especially from the design of their rear cameras. Just like the P50 series devices, both the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will feature two circular camera island at the back of the phone.
The upper ring houses the main camera of the phone, which we do know is a 108 megapixels camera on the Honor 50 Pro, and a 50 megapixels camera on the vanilla Honor 50 based on the etched wording around the camera lens.
As for the boom ring, it features two cameras of unknown specifications. However, they are likely to be an ultra-wide and a telephoto unit for the “Pro” model according to recent leaks.
If rumors are true, the Honor 50 is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 778G chipset, while the Honor 50 Pro on the other hand gets the flagship Snapdragon 888 mobile platform under the hood.
