A couple of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phones are expected to launch soon in China. Most of the upcoming flagship phones equipped with the said chipset will pack a battery of around 7,000mAh capacity. However, a new leak reveals that one phone will include an 8,000mAh battery.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with 8,000 mAh battery: What could it be?
As can be seen above, tipster Digital Chat Station claims that an upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phone will feature an 8,000mAh battery. While he has not revealed the name of the device, he could be referring to the Nubia Red Magic 11 series.
To recall, last year, when flagship phones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip were debuting in the Chinese market, Nubia unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Red Magic 10 Pro series equipped with a 7,050mAh battery. Therefore, it is likely that the Red Magic 11 could arrive with an 8,000mAh battery.
Speaking of Red Magic 11, the company has already started teasing its arrival. A recent Weibo post by Red Magic product manager Jiang Chao revealed that it will have several improvements, such as better water resistance, the company’s most advanced cooling technology, a powerful chipset, an extra-large battery, a new touch control chip for improved responsiveness while gaming, an industry-leading screen that could be equipped with an under-screen selfie camera, and a new ultra-futuristic design.
The Red Magic 11, which is said to have the NX809J moniker, has already appeared in Geekbench’s database in the recent past. The listing revealed that the device could be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 16GB of RAM, and Android 15. It remains to be seen whether the “extra-large battery” suggested by Jiang Chao aligns with DCS’s 8,000mAh battery leak.
