OnePlus is expected to announce its first foldable phone in the first half of August this year. Since the company has not confirmed the name of the device, the rumor mill is calling it by different names, such as the OnePlus V Fold and the OnePlus Fold. In a new report, publication SmartPrix and reputed tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks) have teamed up to release the CAD renders of the OnePlus V Fold. The new images give a good look at the design of the foldable phone for the first time.
OnePlus V Fold CAD renders, specifications
The OnePlus V Fold has an impressive design as it features a punch-hole cover display on the front and a leather-finish rear shell. The latter houses a slightly raised circular camera with a OnePlus logo below it. An oddly positioned LED flash unit can be seen at the upper-left corner of the back panel.
Rumors have revealed that the rear camera setup of the OnePlus V Fold has a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support. It is said to be coupled with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 32-megapixel periscope zoom camera.
Reports have revealed that the OnePlus V Fold will have a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
On the inside, the device is said to have an 8-inch foldable AMOLED screen with LTPO technology. It is likely to support a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera cutout available on the top-left corner of the screen is said to house a 20-megapixel or a 32-megapixel camera.
Under the hood, the OnePlus V Fold will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 4,805mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. It will run on Android 13 OS and OxygenOS 13.1. It is said that the same device will be sold under the OPPO Find N3 name in the Chinese market.
