Chinese smartphone market Unihertz has announced a new entry-level smartphone known as the TickTock-E which features a circular rear-facing secondary display that can be used as a watch face or a smart screen for picking up calls, music control as well as to check for message and email notifications.
This isn’t exactly something new in the smartphone space as the idea of a secondary display had already been implemented on other devices such as the new ROG Phone 6 Pro, but it’s definitely something unique for an entry-level smartphone.
In terms of specs, the Unihertz TickTock-E features a 6.5” LCD front display with HD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate as well as an 8 megapixels front-facing camera to help with selfies and video calls.
Speaking of photography, the phone also has a dual-cam setup at the back comprising of a 48 megapixels camera and a 0.3 megapixels macro camera which will be assisted by a LED flash when shooting in low-light environment.
Under the hood, the Unihertz TickTock-E is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset which will be paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD.
To keep it’s lights on, the phone draws power from a respectable 6,000mAh battery which carries support for 18W fast-charging. Other than that, it’ll also be shipped with Android 12 OS out of the box.
Pricing for the phone is set at just $199.99 and could be purchased via the company’s official site.
