Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor has confirmed on their Chinese Weibo blog that the company’s upcoming Honor Vera 30 smartphone will be driven by the latest Kirin 990 SoC which was announced last week.
The Vera 30, according to reports out of China, is likely to be the new rebranding of the current “V” series. Therefore, the V30 which we’d heard recently is in fact the Vera 30 which the company has revealed today.
Besides being the first Honor smartphone to adopt the Kirin 990 SoC, the Vera 30 will also be the first to debut with 5G connectivity out of the box. That of course, isn’t much of a surprise given that the Kirin 990 has an in-built 5G modem to support the network.
From what we’d learned so far, the Vera 30 is expected to make it’s official debut in Q4 2019. Similar to the case of the Honor V20, the Vera 30 may also be marketed in the global market as View 30 instead.
