The Huawei Watch GT 2 has been confirmed to be unveiled alongside the highly anticipated Mate 30 series on September 19th in Berlin, Germany.
Unlike it’s predecessor, the Huawei Watch GT 2 will be the first smartwatch to run on the HarmonyOS and driven by the newly announced Kirin A1 chip.
Now, Huawei has also released a new video teaser for the GT 2 which hints that the upcoming wearable will be ideal for sporting activities such as gyming, running and swimming to name a few.
This owes largely towards its support for heart rate monitoring, as well as it’s renowned activity tracking which allows you to determine stats like how many steps or distance have you covered, calories burned and so on.
Furthermore, it is said that the GT 2 will be arriving in two different models with one having a more “sporty” outlook, and another with a more “classical” design with leather belt. This could be seen from the earlier leaked render seen above, courtesy of WinFuture.
Besides that, we also learned that the new GT 2 will have a slightly larger 445mAh battery, up from 420mAh which the current model sports. Similarly, the smartwatch will also reportedly be coming with mic and speaker, allowing users to make calls directly from it. However, it’s still unclear whether there will a 4G model for the GT 2.
Finally, we may also see some revamp for it’s monitoring apps in terms of graphics and animations. This time round, it’s said to be more intuitive than the previous versions.
