Back in March, Xiaomi announced the company’s first foldable smartphone known as the Mi Mix Fold which quickly became a big hit in the Chinese market with more than 30,000 units sold in just a minute during it’s debut sale.
Now, according to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is now prepping a new successor with model number j18s. Although he didn’t reveal much information pertaining to this device, but he did noted that it will feature an upgraded display with higher refresh rate.
For context, the current Mi Mix Fold has a 6.52” AMOLED display on the outside with 90Hz refresh rate, as well as an 8.01” OLED display on the inside with 60Hz refresh rate. In the upcoming model, both the external and inner displays are expected to feature 90Hz/ 120Hz refresh rate instead.
As for the rest of the specs, we can expect to see all the usual high-end flagship features including an impressive camera system. If rumors are to be believed, then the upcoming Mi Mix Fold might also be coming with an under-display selfie camera, so there wouldn’t be any hole-punch cutout on it’s external screen.
At the moment, there still isn’t any information regarding the expected launch date of the new Mi Mix Fold. However, we don’t expect it to be launched anytime soon, considering that the current Mi Mix Fold has yet to make their way to the global markets.
