Upcoming OnePlus mid-ranger might debut as OnePlus Nord CE 5G

Earlier this year, we’d heard that OnePlus is prepping a new successor for last year’s OnePlus Nord N10 5G, which was initially thought to be known as the OnePlus Nord N1 5G.

However, base on latest development, it seems like OnePlus will be ditching the Nord N1 5G moniker in favour of a new Nord CE 5G moniker according to reputable leaker Max Jambor.

While, it’s common for mid-ranger phone to carry the “SE” branding within it’s moniker, but it’s actually the first time we’re looking at a “CE” branding in a smartphone.

If you still recall, we’d already chanced upon the CAD-based renderings of this device two months ago, courtesy of serial leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer. These renders suggest that the upcoming Nord CE 5G will be retaining a largely similar design as it’s predecessor except for some minor differences.

Firstly, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is expected to arrive with a triple-camera setup at the back, instead of a quad-camera setup that what we saw on the OnePlus Nord N10. Secondly, its rear-mounted fingerprint scanner also seems to be shifted to the right side of the device which now doubles up as a power button.

Sad to say, there still isn’t any information pertaining to the specs of the Nord CE 5G at the moment. However, we can expect to hear more about them in the coming weeks or months prior to it’s launch.
