OnePlus is soon going to launch the OnePlus Ace 6T equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip in China. However, it appears that the brand may launch another Snapdragon 8-series powered T-series phone in the coming months. Although the name of the device is still unknown, the rumor mill has already leaked key details about this phone. Likely, it may debut as the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo in China.
Mysterious Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 OnePlus phone coming soon
As per the leak by tipster Digital Chat Station, this upcoming OnePlus phone, which could be part of the Ace series, will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. He claims that the device is designed to take on Dimensity 8500-powered phones from other brands, which are expected to launch before the Spring Festival in China.
The rival phones appear to be the Redmi Turbo 5 and the Realme Neo 8 SE, as both are expected to feature the Dimensity 8500 SoC. The launch timeframe suggested by the tipster indicates that these devices may go official in January or in the first half of February.
Moving on to the other specifications, this mysterious OnePlus phone is said to feature a 6.78-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution. It will support a high refresh rate, which could either be 144Hz or 165Hz. The battery capacity is tipped to be around the ‘9K’ level, suggesting a ~9,000mAh battery.
OnePlus recently confirmed that the OnePlus 15R, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, will be launching globally on Dec. 17. The above-mentioned specs align well with what could be seen on the OnePlus Nord 6. It may be wise to wait for further reports to confirm whether this device will be rebranded as the Nord 6 for global markets.
