Apart from offering smartphones, Vivo also sells other products like TWS earbuds and a smartwatch in China. A fresh report by ITHome states that Vivo has confirmed that it will be entering the tablet market this year. It is likely that the first Vivo tablet may debut in Q4 in China.
Last year, Vivo had trademarked monikers such as Vivo Pad, iQOO Pad, iQOO Book, and NEX Book. While the brand was speculated to launch tablets and notebooks last year, it is yet to announce its first tablet or notebook. It seems that the first tablet from the brand could be a few months away as the Vivo Pad moniker was recently spotted in the database of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Last month, schematics of the alleged Vivo Pad had surfaced online. The images revealed that the tablet will be equipped with slim bezels and its rear shell will be sporting a dual-camera system. The right edge of the device will be featuring volume buttons and a power key. The images also suggested that the Vivo Pad may sport a slim and lightweight design.
At present, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor are the only mainstream smartphone brands that have been selling tablets since the past few years in China. None of the BBK Electronics such as Vivo, iQOO, OPPO, OnePlus, and Realme have launched a tablet or a notebook yet.
It appears that brands may gradually enter the tablet and laptop market in the coming months. Recently, Realme confirmed that it will be soon announcing the Realme Pad tablet and Realme Book laptop later this year. It was reported in March that OPPO is in talks with suppliers for its first tablet. However, there is no official confirmation from the brand on whether it will be launching a tablet soon.
