Vivo has officially announced a product launch event scheduled for Oct. 14, in Beijing, China. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station previously claimed that the Vivo X200 series of flagship phones will be announced in the third week of October. Therefore, it seems likely that the X200 lineup will make its debut on the specified date.
The Vivo X200 series is expected to include multiple models: Vivo X200, X200 Plus, X200 Pro, and X200 Ultra. While the Ultra variant is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, the other models are expected to debut as the world’s first phones powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset.
According to reports, the Dimensity 9400 chip will be built on TSMC’s 3nm process. It will comprise a 3.63GHz X4 super core, three 2.80GHz X3 large cores, and four 2.10GHz A7 small cores, alongside a Mali-G925 Immortalis MC12 GPU. The new chip is expected to offer a 30 percent performance improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform.
Vivo’s Vice President and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy, Jia Jingdong, recently revealed that the X200 series will introduce several groundbreaking technologies. These include a custom camera sensor powered by Vivo’s imaging chip, a high-capacity battery, and a flagship chipset. In addition, the X200 series will come preloaded with the AI-powered OriginOS 5.
The X200 and X200 Pro are expected to feature a 1.5K OLED display with a micro-quad-curved design and a periscope telephoto lens. The Pro model is expected to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and the series is expected to support 90W fast charging.
The Vivo X200 series is expected to face competition from the Dimensity 9400-powered Oppo Find X8 series, Xiaomi 15 series equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, OnePlus 13, iQOO 13, and Honor Magic 7 series. The OnePlus, iQOO, and Honor flagships are also expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
