Vivo introduced the first NEX branded smartphone called the Vivo NEX back in 2018. Since then, the company has been launching NEX devices with innovative features. The company hasn’t launched a new NEX phone after the Vivo NEX 3s, which debuted in March 2020. Fresh information reveals that the company has axed its NEX lineup.
According to Sina Technology, in a major product restructuring that Vivo carried out in February, it cancelled the NEX division and its subordinate organizations. As can be seen in the screenshot below, the official Vivo China website has tabs for its X, S, T, Y, iQOO series, but it no longer shows a tab for NEX devices.
Previous rumors have claimed that Vivo is working on the Vivo NEX 5 flagship and its first foldable phone. However, new reports have claimed that the NEX 5 will be rebranded as the Vivo X Note, while the company’s first foldable smartphone will be called Vivo X Fold.
