Vivo has recently launched the Vivo X90 series of smartphones in China. On Dec. 2, its sub-brand will launch the iQOO 11, 11 Pro, and Neo 7 SE. A new leak claims that the company is also planning to launch the Vivo S16 series in the home market.
According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo S16 will debut before the end of 2022, meaning it will launch by the end of December. He revealed that the Vivo S16 Pro will be a thin and light device with a high refresh rate OLED screen and a Dimensity 8200 SoC.
DCS said that the Vivo S16 Pro will compete with phones that use the low-frequency version of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. So far, only the Reno 9 Pro+, which went on sale recently in China, has the low-frequency SD8+G1 chip. The tipster did not reveal any other information on the specifications of the S16 series.
Last week, the 3C certification platform approved two new Vivo phones with model numbers V2244A and V2245A. Even though there isn’t any solid proof, it looks like these could be the upcoming Vivo S16 and S16 Pro phones. The 3C certification revealed that these devices may support 80W fast charging.
Previous reports have claimed that the Vivo S16 Pro will also feature the Vivo V1 Plus ISP. It is expected to arrive in three colors: black, green, and orange gold.
The Vivo S16 is likely to feature the Snapdragon 870 chipset, which also powers the Vivo S15. It is likely to come in shades like black, blue, and purple. The lineup is also said to include the Vivo S16e, which may come equipped with the Exynos 1080 SoC.
