Yesterday, iQOO unveiled the iQOO 8 Neo series in China. After the sub-brand made its major announcement, Vivo today confirmed that it will launch the Vivo S17 series on May 31 in the home market. Earlier this month, Vivo announced the Vivo S17e in China. Now, it appears that the brand will remove the covers from the Vivo S17 and S17 Pro during the upcoming launch event.
A poster that is now doing the rounds on Weibo shows that reservations for the Vivo S17 series will begin on May 25 in China. The image also reveals that it will break cover on May 31. The Weibo handle of the brand is yet to confirm the launch date.
The poster also reveals the design of the Vivo S17 / S17 Pro. The back panel of the device has a dual-camera setup followed by a ring-LED flash. While the front of the device has not been revealed, it is rumored to feature a curved-edge AMOLED screen.
According to reports, the Snapdragon 782G and Dimensity 8200 chipsets will power the Vivo S17 and S17 Pro, respectively. The latter will compete with the OPPO Reno 10 Pro and the Xiaomi Civi 3 in the Chinese market.
Both phones are expected to feature a 50-megapixel front-facing camera with autofocus support. The back panel of the vanilla model may feature an OIS-assisted 64-megapixel primary camera, whereas the Pro model could be equipped with an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel main camera. The S17 and S17 Pro are likely to support 66W and 80W charging, respectively. Both phones are likely to house a 4,500mAh battery.
