Vivo unveiled the Vivo S30 and S30 Pro Mini in May this year in China. Now, the brand is said to be working on the next-generation S-series phones. Rumours suggest that the company will skip the S40 branding as the number ‘4’ is considered a bad omen in some Asian markets. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, has revealed the key specifications of the S50 and S50 Pro Mini.
Vivo S50 series’ key details tipped

The Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini are tipped to feature the same display sizes seen on the S30 and S30 Pro Mini, respectively. The leak reveals that the Vivo S50 will have a 6.59-inch flat OLED panel that supports a 1.5K resolution and is said to feature a metal middle frame and a periscope telephoto camera. The latter is said to be backed by a flagship-level sensor.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is expected to arrive with a smaller 6.31-inch flat OLED screen that produces a 1.5K resolution. The leak states that the device will be equipped with flagship-grade hardware. While the chipset’s name was not revealed, it is said to be a powerful processor capable of hitting the 3-million mark on AnTuTu benchmarks.
A previous leak revealed that the S50 Pro Mini will be powered by the Dimensity 9400. The same leak also claimed that the device will have an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. For photography, it is expected to feature a triple-camera setup that includes a periscope telephoto camera.
The Vivo S50 series is expected to launch in November in China. It may face competition from the likes of the Oppo Reno 15 lineup and the Honor 500 series, which are also expected to break cover in November in China.
