Vivo S6 5G will be officially announced on March 31st

Vivo has finally confirmed that the upcoming Vivo S6 5G will be officially announced on March 31st later this month. This came shortly after the company teases the rear design of the smartphone yesterday.

Similar to the recently announced Vivo Z6 5G, the Vivo S6 5G is also expected to be a mid-ranger 5G-ready phone that can support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. The device is expected to fall in the same segment as the current Redmi K30 5G as well as the upcoming ZTE Axon 11 5G.

Since it’s a 5G-enabled smartphone, it is likely that the device is powered by either a Snapdragon 765 SoC or MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 SoC under the hood. In it’s memory compartment, there should be at least 6GB worth of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space.

According to earlier reports, the Vivo S6 5G is believed to be the Vivo V1962BC smartphone which was recently certified by the Chinese 3C authority. If that’s indeed the Vivo S6 5G, then we can expect the device to support up to 18W fast-charging as well.

As far as it’s design is concerned, the Vivo S6 5G is expected to feature a pill-shaped cut-out located on the top-right corner of it’s front panel which will play host to a dual-camera setup. The actual specifications of the selfie cameras remain a mystery for now.

In the coming few days, we can expect to see more teasers on the Vivo S6 5G which will probably shed some lights on some of it’s key specifications.
