Vivo T2 5G Launch Delayed to June 6

Vivo had previously confirmed that it would be announcing the Vivo T2 5G on May 23 in China. But a day before the launch date, Vivo posted on Weibo that the Vivo T2 launch event had been moved because of “force majeure.” The company confirmed that the T2 will be unveiled on June 6 at 7 PM (local time).

The Chinese manufacturer has given out the exact reason behind postponing the Vivo T2 launch event. It is speculated that the company may have cancelled the May 23 launch due to the rising number of COVID cases in the country. The company said that the T2 would be made available for purchase soon after its announcement on June 6.

Rumors have it that the iQOO Neo 6 SE, which was unveiled earlier this month in China, will be rebadged as the Vivo T2 5G. The T2 is also expected to be released in other markets. However, it is unclear whether the global T2 will be the same model that will debut in China.

The Vivo T2 5G may feature a 6.62-inch FHD+ OLED screen that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform. The SoC will be accompanied by up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The handset may pack a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. It may come with a 16-megapixel selfie camera and an OIS-enabled 64-megapixel main camera. The main camera could be paired with an ultrawide camera with 8 megapixels and a macro camera with 2 megapixels.

Also, the company’s sub-brand iQOO was also expected to introduce a new Z5 variant with a 6,000mAh battery on May 20. The handset hasn’t launched yet, and there is no update on when it will be announced.
