Following up with the success of the Vivo X60 series smartphones both in it’s local and global markets, Chinese smartphone giant Vivo is now back to the spotlight today with the brand new Vivo X70 series smartphones targeted toward the premium segment.
As expected, a total of three different models were announced including the vanilla Vivo X70, Vivo X70 Pro, as well as the Vivo X70 Pro+. Without further ado, let’s check out what these devices have in store for us!
Vivo X70 & Vivo X70 Pro
Starting with the Vivo X70 and Vivo X70 Pro duo, both devices interestingly retains the same display specs as their predecessors – meaning we’ll be looking at 6.55” AMOLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution, buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, as well as HDR10+ support.
In the imaging department, the Vivo X70 Pro brings along a powerful quad-camera system lead by a 50 megapixels main camera (w/ Gimbal stabilization system), 12 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 12 megapixels telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, as well as an 8 megapixels telephoto periscope lens with 5x optical zoom.
Just like what earlier reports had suggested, the Vivo X70 Pro and X70 Pro+ are the first to adopt Vivo’s in-house V1 processional image chip which comes with an advance AI system for all the image processing tasks.
As for the Vivo X70, it settles with a slightly toned-down triple-cam setup comprising of a Gimbal-assisted 40 megapixels main camera, as well as the same 12 megapixels ultra-wide and telephoto units that were found on the X70 Pro.
Before we move on, it’s also worth noting that the rear cameras of the entire X70 series lineup is also equipped with Zeiss optics and ZEISS T* coating for optimal image quality.
To handle selfies and video calls, the Vivo X70 and X70 Pro duo come with a 32 megapixels front-facing camera that’s housed within it’s central hole-punch compartment.
Under the hood, the Vivo X70 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, while the X70 Pro retains the Exynos 1080 silicon that was used in it’s predecessor.
To keep the lights on, the Vivo X70 and X70 Pro feature a 4,400mAh and 4,500mAh battery respectively. Both devices however, share the same 44W fast-charging support.
Those who’re interested can pick the phones from three different colorways including White, Black and Nebula. In the Chinese market, pricing for the Vivo X70 Pro starts from 3,699 Yuan (US$574), while the X70 Pro kicks off at 4,299 Yuan (US$667).
Vivo X70 Pro+
Coming to the top-of-the-line model, the Vivo X70 Pro+ sports an upgraded 6.78” Samsung E5 AMOLED display which offers a QHD+ screen resolution, adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, as well as HDR10+ support.
For photography, the Vivo X70 Pro+ relies on a quad-camera system at the back which is lead by a 50 megapixels Samsung GN1 main camera along with three other cameras including a 48 megapixels ultra-wide lens (w/ Gimbal stabilization system), 12 megapixels portrait lens, as well as an 8 megapixels telephoto periscope lens with 5x optical zoom. Selfie camera however, is the same 32 megapixels shooter which was also used in it’s X70 and X70 Pro+ counterparts.
Under the hood, the Vivo X70 Pro+ is powered by the latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset alongside a respectable 4,500mAh battery which carries support for 55W fast-wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Vivo X70 Pro+ is available in three different colorways including Vegan Orange, Vegan Blue, as well as Black. It comes with a starting price of 5,499 Yuan (US$853) for it’s 8GB+256GB base model in the Chinese market.
