Recent reports have revealed that Xiaomi and Vivo could be the first smartphone brands in China to launch the Snapdragon 888 powered flagships in 2021. A new Vivo phone with model number V2056A has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing suggests that it could be the upcoming SD888 flagship from the brand.
The Vivo V2056A listing at Geekbench 5 shows that it is powered by a Qualcomm chipset that is labelled as Lahania. It can be said based on the past reports that Lahania is the Snapdragon 888 SoC that went official yesterday.
The base frequency of the chipset is mentioned as 1.80GHz in the listing. The SoC is coupled with 12 GB of RAM and the device is preinstalled with Android 11 OS. In the single-core test, the handset scored 1135 and it recorded a score of 3681 in the multi-core test. Since the smartphone has been spotted for the first time, there is no information available on its other specs.
Soon after the launch of the SD888 SoC, Vivo and iQOO both confirmed that it will soon launch smartphones with the new chip soon. It is unclear whether the Vivo V2056A is a Vivo or iQOO branded smartphone. This year, iQOO announced the iQOO 5 with Snapdragon 865 in February. Vivo unveiled the SD865 powered Vivo NEX 3S in March this year. Hopefully, the iQOO and Vivo branded flagship phones with SD888 will release within the first quarter of the year.
An iQOO phone with V2054A was recently spotted at TENAA. It was found to be equipped with mid-range specs. A couple of other Vivo phones with model number V2036A, V2057A, and V2061A have also appeared at TENAA, but their specifications are under wraps.
